Pinacoteca Aparat begins its exhibition with the flag of Israel.
The reason is that, as London/Hackney residents in 2023, we felt apprehensive about displaying this flag on the window of our space (which is why it will hang there straight after the exhibition).
Besides we can't even think about culture without all the contribution shared and spread over millennia with us by the jewish people.
We want to state: the Israel flag is equal to every European flag as these people were with us in a remarkable way throughout the history of every european nation.
To celebrate this, we feature a violin concerto played by Shlomo Mintz, performing Mendelssohn with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra.
