Bacheca Espositiva nel cuore di Milano

For five days, this box becomes a window:
A collaboration with albnptkv.studio, showing works from Pinacoteca.Aparat’s Collection, Architecture of
sp+am workshop and Drawings by Albena Petkova - our nymph and muse

Day 2 of 5:
Drawings by Albena Petkova (art nymph, albnptkv.studio) & Ship house by sp+am workshop.
Anyone need a new ship?

Day 3 of 5:
Chair design from the early sptam workshop days (when it was still just
atelierмещра or am) + albnptkv.studio's self-portrait aquarelle series, tracing her image from childhood to now.
Enjoy.
P.S. Some say our chair might go back into production. Who knows?

Off the Milan series -
today, the bacheca appears in Verona, on the wall of San Nicolò all'Arena.
We show fragments from the Pinacoteca.Aparat Thursday Stories on Bulgarian Renaissance architecture and a watercolour portrait of Duke Deyan by albnptkv.studio.

Day 4 of 5:

Today, our roaming vitrine continues its journey through Milano, now settled on a quiet street between Sant'Ambrogio and Corso Magenta.

At this moment, we are proud to unveil the Pinacoteca.Aparat’s Archive of Cultural and Political Anthropology - a space where we collect and preserve significant documents from a past unknown and beautiful.

In the image below, we present a Bulgarian unit of freedom fighters from the Ilinden Uprising, one of the most poetic chapters in the Bulgarian history.

This photograph captures a moment from a past where our ancestors lived with a sense of purpose and identity - unlike many post-socialist - or going-to-socialism - societies today.

Burdened by the shadows of totalitarianism and populism, the today’s societies are trapped in a nihilistic denial of their own heritage, endlessly repeating narratives imposed from elsewhere.

We pair this historic photo with a drawing by Albena Petkova, which depicts the eternal power of Prometheus' act, bringing light into darkness, even when forbidden.

We even find the combination of the freedom fighters from the past and Albena's drawing to be a form of biblical dialogue, a symbolism we hope will be understood.

Bacheca Espositiva all' Abbazia di Chiaravalle

A short escape to the Abbazia di Chiaravalle - a Cistercian monastersy on the edge of the city.
Our Bacheca Espositiva brought photographs from our expedition to Glavinitsa - a 10th c. Bulgarian episcopy from medieval Kutmichevitsa, now in Southern Albania.
Bulgarian Romanesque, carved by architects who looked West, not East.

We imagined a monk from Chiaravalle and one from Prespa.
Would they talk about God, power, or stone? Or just paint watercolours with @albnptkv.studio

Day 5/5

Last day of the Italian roaming of this vitrine / mini stage of pinacoteca.aparat.

Featuring a tower-house project in progress from sp+am workshop, and a series of portraits by Albena (@albptkv.studio), including one with our cat and goddess Vincent.

Grazie mille, amici!
