Seed & Harvest: Support the Collection
From September 2025
Pinacoteca.Aparat is one of the very few museums operating without grants or public funding.
All support comes from the creative labour of ateliers vldr-vldrm and sp+am workshop, as well as from those who believe in what we do - the members of Pinacoteca.Aparat société.
The collection is guided by the artist vldr-vldrm himself, built entirely through his own time, means and conviction. Now, the project is entering a new phase - growing through community and entering daily life, bringing beauty, meaning and a genuine sense of belonging to culture.
How to Support
Our monthly membership offers you a meaningful return for your participation. Your subscription supports the growth of our collection. In exchange, you will be receiving each month our museum magazine Harmonica de Clocharium and high-quality prints from the new artefacts. For every year of continues support we send our limited edition t-shirt with a silkscreen print of some part of the collection;
That’s a way to carry and share a vital part of our collection in everyday life, becoming an active participant in the cultural dialogue we keep alive.
To us, managing this collection is among our highest responsibilities; membership contributes to its preservation and growth, while sustaining a
community united by a shared mission.

Clocharium de Harmonica and Clocharium Digital are about a shared rhythm – letters, fragments, reflections.
Sometimes we plan listening parties streamed from Aparat, special edition releases or something unexpected.
The main work for us remains the collection, the exhibitions and actions of Aparat.
The collection direction
Aparat began as a display of a small and unique group of Neolithic statues from the pre-Indo-European Neolithic and Copper Age civilisation in Southeast Europe, centred in the Lower Danube Valley — a culture archaeologists have named Old Europe.
Over time, Vldr-Vldrm’s interests and collection developed along two distinct directions:
The first one consists of around 20 contemporary artists — sometimes friends of the Pinacoteca, but also figures of our highest respect — and forms the CONTEMPORARY.art collection.
The second group gathers a broader range of cultural and anthropological material and is called CVLTURAE: Fragments and Narratives. This includes the original Neolithic collection, but also the results of photo expeditions documenting the surviving traces of Bulgarian cultural heritage across the Balkans: Thracian sanctuaries paired with a growing coin collection; a catalogue of medieval churches; and surviving examples of Bulgarian Renaissance dwellings — often found in forgotten or marginal locations in the countries that now co-inhabit this historical territory.
The collection keeps growing, and we have reached a point where a shared sense of responsibility has become reasonable.
This is a collection that carries weight — an anarchistic body of work that rejects mainstream political margins. It demands originality, depth, and power.
Its quality calls for a growing budget, which remains a constant challenge.
This is why we invite support for the development of the collection, and for the continuity of a space that carries meaning.
Among the aims that guide us next: to acquire dodekadrachm coins of the Thracian Derrones, Orreski, and Dentheletae tribes — the earliest coinage found in Bulgaria and its wider Macedonian, Northern Greek, Albanian, and Romanian context so we can explore the very archaic shapes of our civilisation. Back to modernity, but not missing other artefacts, we also aim to collect works by Bulgarian artists and bohemian circles from the early 1900s through the 1930s and ’40s, alongside others who reflect the exile, fragility, and cultural energy of that time, so we can advocate for a world that was lost and broken after the soviet invasion in Europe.
Last but not least is the continued investment in top-level sound, projection, lighting, as well as photographic and print equipment which we use for our exhibitions and catalogues.
The Pinacoteca.Aparat team carries a strong sense of responsibility and commitment to the privilege of being a stage for such cultural miracles — and to their deeper purpose: to help the societies of our community grow a stable sense of belonging to an eternal tradition.
